In a major development which is set to further consolidate Nokia’s image as a manufacturer of budgetary phones, the company has unveiled two phones, out of which one is the cheapest 3G device of the firm so far. Nokia C2-01 and Nokia X2-01 are the latest offering from the Finnish giant out of which the former is the cheaper one. Though both the phones are priced at under €100, C2-01 costs € 70 before tax and other subsidies.
C2-01 features 3G connectivity and is equipped with a 3.2 mega-pixel camera and the memory of the phone can be increased to 16GB with the use of a microSD card. However, the phone’s small screen coupled with low internal memory (46MB) and small screen (2″) are some of its major drawbacks. The phone uses Symbian 40 OS.
On the other hand X2-01 comes with a 2.4″ screen with a little bit higher internal memory (55MB), but the external memory can be increased only to 8GB with the help of a microSD card. Before tax and other subsidies, the phone costs €80.
With the launch of these two phones, Nokia has once again tried to roll out economical cell phones with rich features. However, both these phones could have been made much better, particularly when it has received criticisms for its N8 handsets.
