After Micromax unveiled its first Android phone Andro A60 for consumers, another Indian handset maker, Intex Mobiles will join
the Android race. The company plans to launch a smartphone running on Android 2.2 (Froyo). The company plans to launch the phone during the first week of February and the phone will be priced around Rs 5,500.
Features of Intex’s Android Smartphone
The Android smartphone from Intex will sport a 2.8 inches resistive touch-screen along with a 3.2 mega-pixel camera. The phone will support Wi-Fi and GPS for internet connectivity and will compete with Andro A60.
Intex also plans to introduce new models its recently launched V Show cell phones which boast of built in projector. The new models of V Show will be handy for professionals as it will support office apps.
Not only this, there will be applications for users in the new model who wish to watch movies or read e-books. V Show cell phones will allow users to project still pictures and movies stored in the phone’s memory or from the internet. However, with more firms focusing on cost effective Android smartphones, time is not far away when almost everyone will have access to the Android platform.
