Smartphones like the iPhone aren’t cheap and they live a hard life being carried around in a pocket where keys can scratch and being dropped while talking and walking. To keep your iPhone working at its peak you want to protect the device and keep it safe.
The best way to do that is with a hard case like the new CandyShell line from Speck. The new line of cases are available in five different two-tone color combos. The outside of the case is hard, but the inside is soft. Nobody wants a case that is going to scratch their phone.
The new colors include BubbleMaker Pink, BatWing Black, AquaBerry Blue, WaxStick White, and JamJar Purple. The interior of the case is rubberized and the case has openings for all the ports on the iPhone. The case also comes with a cleaning cloth and a screen protector. The case sells for $34.95 and the purple/pink version is only available at AT&T stores.

Full Press Release:
Nokia today launched a headset ideal for listening to music and making calls with virtually any compatible phone or music device, with or without a wire. The Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-905 with active noise cancellation combines two in one – both music and calls – and provides crystal clear sound by eliminating background noise with novel active noise cancellation technology from Wolfson Microelectronics, a leader in high performance audio technology. This multi-microphone feed-forward active noise cancellation technology allows for pure sound without ambient noise and is now introduced for the first time in the Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-905.
“The overall music experience with this new headset is second to none thanks to the revolutionary noise cancellation technology. The headset is set apart also through the ability to make phone calls, as switching between music and calls has been made easy with integrated call control”, said Jarno Piironen, Director, Entertainment Business Area, Nokia Original Accessories. “People living in urban areas are surrounded by noise practically everywhere and silence has almost become a luxury. We believe this headset fulfills the highest standards for providing high quality music enjoyment and phone calls and also give the luxury of silence when needing an environment to relax.”
Technically the noise cancellation is solved with a total of 10 microphones: 8 microphones for cancelling noise and 2 microphones for capturing speech in loud surroundings offering advanced noise cancellation for clear sounding phone calls.
The design is simplified to its extreme, ensuring that its functionality is not compromised. Details made of stainless steel ensure a quality and precious look through time and soft ear pads provide comfort. The headset features a dedicated multifunction key for call management, as well as music and volume controls, and a switch for activating the active noise cancellation.
It is compatible with a wide variety of devices. Wirelessly with any device supporting wireless Bluetooth technology, and with wired connection with all Nokia devices with 3.5 mm Nokia AV and 2.5 mm Nokia AV, music players, PCs and other devices with standard 3.5mm jack, home stereos with standard 6.3 mm jack as well as airplane players.

Aside from the ever-popular iPhone, Apple also has a rather popular iPhone Bluetooth Headset in its lineup. The single-button headset was first introduced back in June of 2007 along with the iPhone and was bundled with a Dual Dock that allowed users to charge both the iPhone and the headset at the same time. Apple subsequently dropped the price of the headset to $99 (from the original $129), but discontinued the Dual Dock, which was a sad event to many users. Now it seems that Apple has also discontinued its current Bluetooth headset, as it’s listed as “discontinued” on the Apple Store. This could be an indication that Apple is prepping to release an updated version of the product, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.

As part of the funding deal, CDC Innovation, Auriga Partners and XAnge Private Equity, the three fund contributors, have had their representatives Valery Huot, Philippe Granger and Nicholas Rose respectively join Stantum’s board of directors.

Time to tighten our belts. We need all the help we can get to prepare against the storms in the horizon. Two likely allies come, in the form of Virgin Mobile’s very basic Kyocera S1300 Melo, the JAX, with a color screen and the more impressive of the two, the X-tc, which boasts a comprehensive set of features, including a 1.3 megapixel camera, sliding keyboard, Facebook and MySpace applications to boot! Still not convinced? Well perhaps the price may help in the decision making process – all for a cool $100! Not bad for tough times.
Want your Android Emulator to look a little more like the device you’re trying to get the problem to run on? Well, you’ll be fairly happy to hear that you can download skins for your Google Android Emulator. Some of the devices up for selection include the Palm Treo Pro, Motorola Q, HTC Magic or even the Kogan Agora. Sure, it doesn’t serve any real purpose, but it might help you see how your program looks like on another device.
