Acer’s first Android phone, the Acer Liquid A1, released in December of 2009, seems to not have been forgotten by the Taiwanese company’s software support folks.
An update is now available for it that takes its operating system from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1.

Acer has just announced two brand new Android phones, the Acer beTouch E120 and Acer beTouch E130 models, with the latter being pictured immediately below. Both run Android 1.6 Donut and we learn that the E120 comes with a 2.8 inch QVGA touchscreen, while E130 relies on a 2.6 inch QVGA touch display and a QWERTY keyboard.

Rogers have just put the Acer Liquid E up for sale on their website, and probably the most shocking thing of the whole ordeal, is the price. And, we’ll give you a hint: it’s good.

There’s a new Android 2.1 smartphone in the house and it’s coming all the way from Acer. The Acer Liquid Stream is the device in question and we can already say we wished it was an Android Froyo handset. Can we expect it to get it almost immediately after the official arrival in stores?

Electricpig recently announced that two new Acer handsets running Android are now available for pre-order in the UK. We’re talking about Acer beTouch E400, based on Android 2.1 and available via eXpansys, plus E110, also available via the same retailer. E400 goes for £264.99 SIM-free, while the E110 can be yours for £159.99, no SIM attached.

Announced by Acer in mid-October, the Liquid A1 (the company’s first Android smartphone) has just been approved by the FCC and – guess what? – it has AT&T 3G support (850 / 1900 MHz).
We’ve previously heard about some of Acer’s plans to launch smartphones in the US, so there may be some chances for AT&T to actually release the A1.
Powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the Acer Liquid A1 S100 features a 3.5 inch WVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, GPS, access to social networking sites (Twitter, Facebook, Flickr), 3.5mm headset jack, and a 5MP camera with autofocus.

Experts haven’t been all that impressed with Acer’s new Liquid A1 smartphone, that will be made available in the following week, so the company has to try better than that. The touchscreen phone is kinda “fat”, but you’ll get your consolation once you learn that the PC maker plans on releasing 8, to 10 new devices in 2010.
