It feels like we were just talking about phone prices, as it relates to Palm and carriers. Oh, wait… It’s been barely two days since AT&T launched the Palm Pre Plus for their network, and while it’s still listed as $149.99 on their website (which does include a “free” Touchstone charger), it looks like Amazon has got the inclination that that’s not a very good price point for the premiere webOS device.

This Summer is definitely turning out to be quite the one to remember. While we’ve got Sprint releasing the HTC EVO 4G on June 4th, and AT&T’s already launched the Palm Pre Plus for their network. A big question everyone wanted answered after the announcement of the AT&T version of the Palm Pre Plus, though, was simply: where’s the Pixi Plus? Well, that’s finally been answered.

Honestly, if you’ve been watching the rollercoaster that is the story behind the Palm Pre’s existence, then this little bit of news probably isn’t that big of a shock. But, it’s not working, and so now the webOS flagship device has taken yet another price cut.

It had to happen eventually, and as history would tell us, it generally happens well before the official launch. And this time around isn’t any different. There’s still no word from Vodafone officially, like an awesome press release, but if the German blog webOS-Blog is to be believed, then they’ve just got word about what future Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus owners can expect from Vodafone.

Facebook for webOS is still in beta after it’s launch last month, but is coming along nicely, with version 1.1.4 offering a drop-down notification list. Those notifications will also show up as webOS notifications, so you’ll be able to see the latest updates whatever you’re doing on your Palm (NSDQ: PALM) Pre or Pixi. The app’s layout has been reorganized a bit to accommodate the new menu in the top-left, but a few smaller tweaks have also been included:

As predicted, AT&T have announced that they too will be offering the Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus, the company’s two webOS smartphones. Set to go on sale “in the coming months”, the two handsets have basically the same functionality as their Verizon counterparts aside from switching to HSDPA: both have quadband GSM and dualband UMTS/HSDPA, along with WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS.
