Sony Ericsson had revealed their upcoming “miniature” android smartphones, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini pro about a month ago at the MWC 2010. SE recently revealed the pricing for the two handsets in Europe and even though both come with relatively small 2.55-inch displays, they are to cost €300 or more.

Vodafone UK has just announced that its customers can pre-order the Sony Ericsson Vivaz as of now. The Symbian smartphone will be available through Vodafone starting March 9, for free with a 2-yr contract agreement of at least £30 per month.

The Vivaz (which will also be sold via T-Mobile UK) features a 3.2 inches touchscreen display, 8MP camera with HD video recording, GPS, Wi-Fi and an 8GB memory card in the box. Unlike the Vivaz Pro, the Vivaz doesn’t have a full QWERTY keyboard.

Sony Ericsson Vivaz Pro

In this video the people from Sony Ericsson talking briefly about the Vivaz and Vivaz Pro. The Sony Ericsson Vivaz pro is almost identical to the Vivaz but has some key differences. First of, it features a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard for the texting crowd out there and second, it has a 5-megapixel camera, as opposed to 8MP. Fortunately, it has kept its ability to shoot HD resolution videos.
