NEC has been selected by NTT DoCoMo to provide core network “EPC” systems that support NTT DoCoMo’s “Super 3G” next generation mobile phone networks. Super3G is a standard system and an advanced version of the W-CDMA-extended technologies HSDPA and HSUPA. The system, which achieves data transmission speeds of 100Mbps or more in downlink and 50Mbps or more in uplink access, is designed to reduce delays in data transmission and improve frequency usage efficiency.

In July 2006, DoCoMo began accepting proposals from suppliers seeking to develop Super 3G equipment and expects to complete development of Super 3G technology by 2009

Yeah, this is just a concept phone. Not sure whether Sony Ericsson (as mentioned on the site) is working on it or not, you can see and enjoy the concept through these images:

Sony Ericsson video phone

“All this while you thought you couldn’t do without your handycam, phone, musicplayer etc. but if Sony has its way, you may be able to have just one gadget that does it all for you. It will be your mobile phone, still-camera, video recorder, PDA, music player; in short everything bundled together. This concept phone has a unique twist to it, to lock it or use it; you need to twist the movable base. It sports a 5 MP camera and has dual mode. You can either use the simple keypad or a stylus for inputs…”

Don’t expect a Nokia BMW phone to land in the shops too soon, as it usually takes some time for two tech giants to cooperate, specially after the Bochum scandal, that left many German workers jobless.

As for the beautiful design you can check out below, it pertains to Evgen Designer and it features GPS navigation and a powerful camera.

The Nokia BMW comes with an interesting “push to open” mechanism that makes its display rotate 90 degrees turning the whole device into a handycam. Notice the original camera placement? Sony would probably love to invent something like this…

Yes, this is a 2007 LG concept phone, but I’m still waiting for the Touch to come out… It combines the functions of the Prada and the iPhone and offers full browsing and comes with a fancy looking earset and handsfree module. I noticed the Cyon branding on the device, is that the designer of the handset or a new LG sub-branding?

The LG Touch can also be used as a remote controller and it features a Dual LCD for quick viewing of messages and missed calls.

Last, but not least, I should mention that the handset comes with a touchscreen display and it’s motion sensitive, plus it can be used with a touch QWERTY keyboard cradle.

Yes, it is a Walkman phone, this W970i, but it looks very much like the ideal MP3 player, that would replace the ever popular iPod. Designed by the same talented J. Havrlant, the W970i comes with UIQ 4 and a pretty large display, but I’m not so sure about the multimedia keys placement beneath the screen…

They might not be very comfortable, but the device is still looking hot.
